Green: Ikea Goes More Green with Wind And Solar -

Ikea is getting deeper into green as it plans to install 39,000 solar panels on top of its stores in UK.  The solar panels could provide about 5% of its electricity needs. On top of that, it purchased a 12.3 MW wind farm that will provide another 30% of its electrical needs.

Why is Ikea being so aggressive?  Call it looking into the future.  They know that the day will come when renewable sources will be more prevalent and cost-effective than traditional carbon-based sources.

Already, Google, Toys 'R Us, And Walmart are among some of the biggest companies sourcing their needs from renewable sources.
